Sorry about the dumb question but, do the spark plugs get power from just the alternator or the battery? Combination? Thanks again!

combination of both, stores up energy and discharges when ground signal is sent.

So is it at all possible that corrosion on the positive batter terminal could cause problems with spark?

corrosion on battery's cause tons of problems!... also make sure all of your wires/coil harnesses are plugged in all the way.

Use dielectric inside of all of your spark plug boots as well

The coil pack or spark plug side? On a side note, I found out the car doesn't have a head gasket leak. The oil isn't milky like i've seen in pictures. I'm guessing it just built up condensation over time. Anyway, i'm having a bit of a problem getting the spark plug side of the wire to stay on. I get it on there tight and then eventually it comes loose. How do you get em to stay on?
