I need to vent.
Today, I was heading towards Trent's.
I just got off I-70 and start heading northbound on Tower Rd.
Ahead of me there's a multiple-car accident. One car on the media, another one facing traffic on the southbound lane and two others on the right side.
The traffic is moving at a crawl. There's a big semi in front of me. The traffic comes to a complete stop and I'm sitting there for 15 seconds waiting for traffic to move.
At this point I'm sitting next to two of the cars involved in the accident on my right.
So, the semi in front of me starts to move and so do I. As soon as I'm in the process of releasing the clutch to get my truck moving, one of the cops decides to cut in front of me to walk over to the media. I hit the brakes right away. He was about a good 15 feet in front of me. The cops give me the look and I nodded that I was sorry. Another cop standing by gets pissed off and tells me to pull over to the side, which I did.
He yells at me and tells me I almost hit a police officer for not paying attemtion for looking at the accident.
He goes to his cruiser and comes back with a 4-point careless driving ticket.
Man, I was pissed. There was no cops directing traffic, and I was just starting to get moving, not even at 2mph.
I'm going to fight this ticket to the end. That's ridiculous that I get nailed for a careless driving becasue a cop decided to negligently cut across in front of me at the precise time the traffic starts to move again.
There were so many people I didn't even see the cop coming out of the crowd to cross the street once the semi in front of me started to move
I'm having a meeting with my lawyer next week!
