Hey just finished paying off my Camaro today and took it for a drive but unfortunately, it seems to be misfiring pretty bad. When I try to go WOT it seems to stutter and not wanna go above 3.5k RPMS. There also seems to be a knocking noise when trying to do this. On a side note, this car sat for 2 years and hasn't really been run since then. I put 91 octane in after the first drive and it seemed to help quite a bit however, the problem is still very noticeable. Any ideas? Im thinking it needs some new plugs and wires but other than that i'm lost. Could it be an o2 sensor? PS- Its throwing a code so ill get it read tomorrow.
Thanks for the help in advance,
Gavin.

Shoot Trent a call, he might know whats going on or you can bring it to him and get it looked at.

Just a little update.
I cleaned the MAF today and then changed the air filter and it still has the SES light and isnt running the greatest although this seemed to help. I will be changing the plugs hopefully tomorrow so if anyone has any other ideas, let me know.
Thanks
Gavin

Another update! I got it worked down to either an 02 sensor(s) or the plugs again which I haven't wanted to do. I'm gonna get the code read tomorrow and we'll see what happens.

Not much yet. I'm getting the title tomorrow as well as insurance so I'll finally be able to drive it down to autozone for an SES read. I'm really hoping its the o2 and not something worse.

Gavin,
If your SES light is flashing, its either the plugs or a bad o2 pulling or adding way to much fuel on one bank or the other.
When you come get the tires i can take a look for you if you want.

Its on constantly. I'm not sure if it starts flashing while i'm trying for WOT. Sounds like my thoughts on what was wrong was well... wrong lol. I'll see if my car can make it down to ya on friday. I'm just worried about driving it with these problems on top of my terrible tires. Time for an adventure I suppose!

Took my car down to autozone today and the only thing they could find was P0327 which is a rod knock sensor going off. Any Idea on where to start? On the recpiet it says it could be low fuel pressure, an actual rod knock or that the sensor is deffective. the only problem with that is the car runs fun and I don't hear any noises unless I get about 2.5k rmps. So like I said before, any ideas?? I'm lost at this point

yeah could be bad gas from sitting for so long too, may have to run a few tanks threw it. i'd slap a fuel filter on her too just for good measure. But yeah could be o2s... dead or reading wrong causing a lean or rich condition, bad fuel, failed maf sensor, TPS sensor out of range, plugs worn or fouled, intake gaskets leaking air, low fuel pressure?? Hard to say with out wathing some fuel trim info and such on a REAL scan tool and checking fuel pressure. Usually a misfire, even a dead miss on one hole will not keep the rpms down? It would still go to red line but feel very slugish and unbalanced. sounds more like a overly rich or lean condition.

So the o2s could be the culprit still? I just figured they'd throw a code. The car absolutely hates heavy throttle and high RPMS so i'm still leaning towards a fuel/ignition problem.

On another note, i kept the car in first and went through the rpms. It will get up there but it has a weird popping noise and in general, it hates it. Sounds very unhealthy so I don't really want to try that again lol. After some general maintence and fuel treatment, hopefully the problem will be solved. If not it's going to a pro lol. Thanks for the replies by the way.
